EK CPU block, lost parts, socket upgrade, I cry

I just went from socket 1155 to 2011 and it looks like my 5 year old water loop parts are compatible, but I seem to be missing the 4 screws needed to do this, my big box of random computer accessories does not have it. The screws in question are to the right of the CPU block in the image below

My block is an "EK Supreme HF CPU Waterblock - Copper Plexi" and I do see EK do a replacement kit for the Supremacy EVO as seen below.

It should be compatible because its a standardized socket but the thickness of the blocks might be different? I'll try asking EK first to be sure.

Searching auction sites for a more antique kit for my block gave me nothing so far and a lot of Honda Civic parts because "EK" is in the search words :p

I'm unlikely to get a response from EK on a sunday so I would like to know what people here think of my other options if the replacement kit does not work out.
  • Buy a new CPU block, tubing and fluid to do a rebuild of the w/c system
  • Buy an AIO sealed cooler which will give the same performance and reliability (hopefully)
  • Just whack a massive chunk of metal on the CPU and be done with it (unlikely to be the popular opinion in this forum)
  • Do something else not listed

You wouldn't have had the screws because that socket wasn't around 5 years ago. I don't even think that a 5 year old Supreme HF would have had the easy mount kit that their blocks come with now as I believe that came in a later revision.

Yeah i wouldnt decide anything till ya hear back from EK, if your happy with your custom loop i would just replace the block if ya cant get the screws.

I have a spare set of the screws you can have. Can post them tomorrow if you trust me your address. Sadly they will take a few days as I live in Paris.

I'm not sure about that because that first image I posted was from a Dec 2011 warning/article from EK about using this type of block on a 2011 socket.

I even used web archive website to look at the product page on OCUK in Dec 2011 and it's product name is "OcUK V12 Watercooling Kit 360 **2011 Compatible** [OCUKV12-1]". Pretty damning stuff, I obviously just screwed up by losing the parts  haha
The images show what I think will work, but EK will have to tell me if the spacing between the CPU and block will be the same so i don't end up too loose or too tight on the heat spreader.

2011-V3 looks to have the same layout as whatever revision was out then, maybe they only changed the CPU "pin" layout. I did trial mate the block to the cpu bracket and it would line up perfectly with the factory CPU bracket.
However I only have the fittings which use a rear bracket, but that would require me to drill and hack off the factory bracket :p

I'll see what EK says first, as others have said, but that might be an option. Thank you.

Released 4 yr 8 months ago, 11th Nov 2011 - so skt 2011 is nearly 5 yrs old. EK would have know the specs/spacing a good few months in advance.

Hi there mate. I have the said same block on my x99 setup. Ive just checked the box for the block and there is a silver sticker on it saying 2011 fixing kit included so I'm guessing you bought your before the item was upgraded so to speak.

I would think however that you should be able to get the bits you would need from EK

Did you hear back from EKWB?

Yea, EK confirmed that replacement mounting kit would work with my block.

However when I went through trying to order it the shipping came out as 16 euro delivered on a 11 euro product and the delivery date was the 22nd-29th...

So I just bought a Supremacy block and some new tubing to rebuild the loop either this weekend or early next week instead.
