Hey guys,

Don't know if anyone here will be able to help but it's worth a try. I'm going to be stripping down my current build to use parts in a new build I'm planning to do. Over the years my DCP has always had a low volume humm to it. I'm wondering if it's worth taking the thing apart and doing some maintenance on it before I stick it back in a new build.

Anyone have any idea if pumps even allow maintenance since they are sealed? Maybe it's just worth getting a new pump? :confused:

If anyone has done this before I'd love some advice.

The hum is mostly the coil, which means they ain't a lot you can do. Though it's not as bad when turned down(Voltage dropped)

Have the same issue, It's only noticeable because the rest is quite + the way my PC/desk is made. Tends to resonate through the desk, Have mine cushioned and all the rest as well btw. Is that what you are hearing?

I personally was going to try putting longer tubes on mine to stop noise transfer see if that helps, might be an idea to try depending on your setup

Toyed with the idea of going D5 but most people say they ain't nowt in it noise wise.

While your about EK Luc ;)

Do you know the sound/noise difference between the D5 and the DCP4

Never been able to find a vid or whatever on youtube with a side by side comparison

@Kipz

Sorry for the hijack :o

I have it running through the motherboard cpu header so I think the fluctuations I can hear possibly may be the fans too. I'm planning to have it nice and hidden in my coming build so maybe I can get some sticky neoprene or something similar and give it a nice little coat. Hopefully it wont get too hot.

Thanks for the heads up Luc.

No sorry I don't have this info and I never found a video about that. But a D5 Vario set at "2" is technically inaudible.
