EK supremacy precise mount

I'd be all over it if I was an ivy or haswell owner. Takes the ihs heat issues away completely, means you should be able to compensate a poor clocker with higher voltage.

So is there no chance of damage whatsoever?? And how much of an improovement over liquid pro under the hood?

Edit: dont know why i asked about damage when i'm taking a knife to it!! :D

I just used one yesterday, it was worrying me greatly so I didn't screw the bolts all yhe way

There is still a gap between blocks arms and the mounting kit...

Will update when PC actually turns on

As with anything watercooled, you always run the risk of some damage, though imo getting the lid off should be the most risky part.

Remove socket clamp, fit backplate, drop chip in, put a little insulating tape on to hold it in place, Tim on the die, carefully place on the block and tighten until you run out of thread.

I have the s2011 precise mount posts, sooo much easier then tightening down the raystorm I had previous.

It's so easy to install these and mount your cpu block, though a little more nervous than usual. It works good and the cooling is exceptional :)

Are there any numbers around that show the difference between delid with liquid pro + regular mount vs. the naked mount?

I hadn't screwed the blocks bolts down far enough so cpu pins were not makeing contact correctly.

I was getting 75c with normal watercooling and 55c with delid and liquid pro nakedness.
Thats 4.5 ghz and 1.280v

Hmmmm I am seriously tempted by this. Just bought myself a 4770k and z87 mobo, but had just recently put my loop back together on my ex58 with a raystorm. Would need to buy a supremacy which is another £50ish.

Plus also the fear is that I break something in process of de-lidding. Willtry it with Raystorm to start with but expecting very high temps even under water with any kind of overclock.

What is the best method for de-lidding, vice or knife?
