Hey,

Money and fate have been cruel to me so my PC Build plans have been knocked down a few pegs.

I was planning on buying an EK Supremacy for a new build, but the new Hardware budget sort of fell through but from their site I see that the block is compatible with my current i7 920.

*Light bulb noise*

Is it an alright Idea to use the budget I'd set aside for Watercooling the next build on my current pc?
And then use the res&rads&pump etc etc on my next build, and reusing the CPU block, I hear people talk about how they re-use CPU blocks( I've never had the chance)

So the Point I suppose is can the EK-Supremacy be reused from a i7 920 (1366) on newer CPU (that's currently out) without much hassle?
Has anyone done it before? Or will I come up against problems?

Thanks

one of the bonuses of watercooling is that you can keep most/all of it from one build to the next. as long as your block works for both it's fine.

Supremacy blocks come with different mounting equipment and jetplates to optimize it for a number of sockets.

Its incredibly easy to change socket, just unscrew the top and replace the block mount plate. Many people take blocks apart when cleaning their loop, to inspect them and thoroughly scrub them.
