EK Terminal leaking

Had the rig on for about a month now with no fluid loss. I noticed the temps rising a little earlier and then spotted that there was a leak. So I've cleaned it all out and tightened the little allen key screws but it's still coming out.

I take it I'll have to strip it an re-do the seals? Or is there anything else I can do. I don't really have enough spare liquid to be taking it apart.

Here's a pic:

It only comes out when the pump is on.

Looks to me like it's the seal between the block itself and the terminal?

My money is that the O-ring is slipped out of place or is not compressed enough.

I would drain it, keeping the fluid if you don't have enough. Fill it and leak test with the remaining unused fluid and top it up with the used fluid once you are sure of no leaks. If it leaks again after checking the O-ring and screwing everything down again, it will need an RMA.

Thanks, it was the o ring on the terminal, it had a little nick in it, I've put a spare in and I'm now filling the loop again.

Haha, their horrid little things those rings

I plan on never having to fit them again. Was tempted to buy 3 back plates for my cards but can't face having to take the bridge apart again :p

A bit of glue to get the O-rings to stay is what i use. Wish silicon gel was an option for me but with clear illuminated plexi blocks, itd probably look a bit cloudy/dirty where the gel is.

Leaks in a watercooled rig isnt too bad. It should only leak when you first fill it up and at this point the fluid is non conductive, so its pretty safe even if it goes unnoticed during the leak test phase and PC gets the go ahead to turn on. I have had mayhems drip a puddle on my board for over an hour, while i was obliviously surfing OCuk forums and updating my project log.

Still they are hell annoying to deal with, mainly because you never expect to have to waste time dealing with them!

Leaks in an air cooled rig would be worse, i wouldn't know where to start! :D

Still tempted by the back plates at some point so if I do, shall most definitely use some glue. Sounds dumb, but do you just fill the indent where the ring lies, and then just stick the ring on?

I'm no engineering genius, but surely it's feasible to make an oval shape o-ring that fits in nicely :p

At one point, one of the little tinkers vanished. Literally I glanced up at the tv, looked back down to where I'd just placed the ring, and it had somehow jumped about 3 foot, hidden perfectly under a remote

Dont fill it, just a dab in a few places to get the ring to stay in place long enough to screw it down and compress it. Not really the adhesive that helps, but rather the stickiness of the wet glue.

There are oval-rings... they still fly at you though and are not much easier to keep in place!
