EK-Vardar F4-120ER (2200rpm) PWM question

Hi all, I was looking to buy all white fans for my radiators and ive just spotted this one, I will never want to run the fans at 2200RPM but since it is PWM with a compatible fan controller these can easily be set to run between 800/1200rpm and always be locked into that range right? if so then it's nice to have the option to push it more if I want to, but if I can keep it low then these fans sound perfect for me, as they should be relatively quiet humming around that range I hope? thank you :)

Best thing about the new er range is that the fans start at 250 rpm compared with 600rpm at best on other fans. That's superb and means I can set up a whisper quiet system for browsing and such.

I have already asked ocuk when they are getting stock but no answer yet :(

The new er range have better static pressure and much more linear performance than the old range. To answer your question, you will be able to set these fans to run between 250 and 2200 rpm and anywhere in between.

Static pressure is the same RPM to RPM.

They do sound like fantastic fans, OCUK just need to get more stock in now so we can buy them! :D thank you for the info though guys :)

Sorry you are right. They are still betetr fans though :D

rpm starts at 375 as opposed to 700 rpm and they are very linear as pwm increases.

I know, that's my review you linked :D

Apologies for the website though, the theme I used isn't working great with the latest WordPress update so it's a bit off aesthetically at the moment. Hopefully will be fixed soon.

For sure, these are the fans I personally recommend overall for people wanting 120mm rad fans if money/PWM control isn't a problem.

Great reviews on your site. I love it. What 360 and 480 rad would you recommend to go with these fans please? Who's rad best atm?

Thanks, I definitely appreciate it.

So I would need a bit more info for recommendations. But if rad size isn't an issue and you are planning on going with a single set of rads, then you would like something takes advantage of these fans being optimized for static pressure and airflow. EK XE is a good choice, as is the HWLabs Nemesis GTX and upcoming Nemesis GTR. The former is easier to find in Europe atm so there you go.

Yeh great reviews.

Would these fans be ok for xspc rx 480 in push/pull and could 16 fans be controlled off a Aquaero 6 XT, getting a bit confused on how to connect all the fans up with pwm fans.

Any help would be most welcome :)

Fan splitter cables and the powerblock or similar.

But there is no need for 16 fans, unless your cooling an F1 car sitting in the pit lane. :)

I like to go overkill with my cooling. Had a 360 and 120 colling a i7-950 and 7970 and could browse the internet on passive and game on lowest fan speed (about 700 to 800rpm) so still almost silent.

I now have a 5820k and two 290x (all overclocked) and the loop cant cope anymore. Need fans on lowest for browsing need to ramp them up a bit to keep temps below 60 when gaming.

I do play around with HWbot and records so have my fans on max when benchmarking etc.

So I have ordered a new case (primo) so plenty of rad space so thinking two 480s perhaps and maybe even 240 just for overkill :)

So i am liking the pairing of the Vardar F4 ER fans (so I can have them ticking over) adn silent. Looking at your rad reviews, I am thinking the Black Ice GTX seem to tick all the boxes. Much better performance until the fans get over 1000 rpm and even then decent performance?
