Hi guys, I was wondering in anyone can help me out with this:

I recently replaced my CPU and during the installation of the waterblock I noticed the RGB cable was only holding on to 1 wire to the RGB board. When I first had it installed the RGB wasn’t recognised by my motherboard and it would only light up in green. I thought it was just an incompatibility and left it at that.

I only noticed the wires were off after I removed the waterblock to reinstall the CPU as I wasn’t happy with my thermals.

I checked OCUK to see if They had any spares for this but to no avail. EK doesn’t have them listed in their spares section either.

Does anyone have any idea where can I get a replacement for this?
This is what the RGB board looks like right now.

Thanks for your help.

You should be able to separate the four wire strands slightly, remove a small amount of insulation and re-solder the wires to the connection.
It looks like you might be able to get more access to solder by removing the bolts and Perspex cover.

I could perhaps ask someone if they can resolder this for me. I have emailed EK, see what they suggest. Looking around it seems I'm not the only one experience this.

I'm a competent electronics engineer, and no stranger to a soldering iron (been using them for 30+ years). If you're stuck and don't mind shipping to/from me, I'd happily help out as long as you know polarity etc (it might be evident on the unit but I'd need to see it) it shouldn't take long :)

That would be perfect, thank you.
As far as polarity goes I think the 12v(indicates by an arrow on the pin connector) goes to the left pin on the PCB looking at LEDs pointing upwards.
Let’s see what EK guys say tomorrow or the day after and I’ll get in touch with you.

cheers,
Yan
