EK Water Blocks EK-DDC 3.2 PWM question

i want the EK Water Blocks EK-DDC 3.2 PWM pump so as can control the pump speed via my motherboard but will this fit a XSPC Acrylic Tank Reservoir, i know they do a kit for the laing ddc-1t pro 10w but as its only got a 3 pin im not sure how to control the pump speed or can i still connect this to my motherboard via the 4 pin fan headers. :confused:

so if i get the laing the 3 pin that is seperate to the power pin i connect to the motherboard header and i can control the RPM to slow pump down is that right.

In the end I swapped it for one of these, excellent res, never had a problem, and it comes with all sorts of extra's to stop things like whirlpools.

dont the res come with a top or is that for the laing, so i need a ek top, OCUK dont do it so i cant post a link to what i mean.

right im getting confused here,so if i get Acrylic Top for Laing DDC will this work on the ek ddc, so i can connect a xspc acrylic top res ( multiport ) i want the ek ddc so as to use the pwm connector.

If you go for the EK Res that im using now, it kinda has the top built in, thats the black part at the bottom.

I have the Laing DDC, itcomes wth 2 x 3 pin plugs, one plug has the black and red power wires, and the other plug has a blue wire, it is only for monitoring pump speed, not controlling it, I guess you will need to make sure you buy the PWM version for that, not sure why you would want to control the speed of the pump though, they run silent anyway at full speed.

thanks for clearing that up the xspc acyrlic res multiport comes with the top already connected.

If you are then yes that should fit the EK DDC PWM Pump perfectly fine as its just a liang DDC pump rebadged by EK. Also yes you can simply plug the pump into the CPU header to control how quick it runs.

That XSPC Res top is one of the best performing res's for the DDC pumps and as I mentioned helps absorb some of the noise of the pumps quite well. I think Jammin was getting confused with using a DDC pump with a normal seperate res and not the XSPC res top.

hope its not noisey, will get the vibration feet to go with it aswell, but to control the pump speed will be good to get it to run smooth and quiet.
