my http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-415-EK suddenly has developed a nasty humming noise after i moved it, after a month of silent running, sounds like the motor , feels pretty hot underneath tho i hadnt felt it before so no idea if they run hot or not, anybody else had this and should i return it or replace the motor(if it can be done) ? And no i didnt let it run dry lol

I would open it up and check it, when I say open it, I mean take the res off, to check the impeller not open the unit up, this will void any warranty, but yep, that's not air, that's a knackered impeller or motor, tilting it makes no difference and wouldn't break it, these pumps can be mounted in various orientations, I have one myself and moved it and had it mounted in different positions whilst its running, its been fine for about 5 years now and never experienced that problem.

If its still under warranty then send it back.

Moving the pump whilst it's running can damage it. I know because I've done this myself in the past :o

Did it start making noises immediately after it was moved?

it started to made them as i moved it , its 1 month old , but its not the first time i moved it, i cant afford to check it as its my only pump and i cant afford to get a spare and dont wana be without a pc while i get it sorted, o dear, so trying to block sound out as its 3 foot from my head on the bed (my head on the bed not the pc lol)
yer i think the impeller or motor may of moved but as u can hear if u saw the video its electrical motor noise not a grinding.
