I've not bought any components for my PC for about 2 years now and equally not kept up with the news/releases/changes etc. I've heard comments alluding to EK having a downturn in quality and support. What's the story here as this is new to me as I always thought they had a good reputation?

I think its easier in EU still, I had to buy something from Germany as there was no stock in UK and no plans to re-stock and german supplier was consistently showing movement in stock of various EK parts - I had been pondering for a week before I eventually bought.

There's the business management issues, I stopped following that a while ago but I'm surprised they're still trading tbh.
Even before that though, they'd had issues with quality and/or quality control - poor quality nickel plating etc.
I've had CPU and GPU blocks from them and they've been fine, but that was before those issues.

The main thing putting me off them in recent years was their pricing, although that doesn't seem unique to them - £100+ for a CPU block or £300 for a GPU block, £200 (+/- a bit) for a pump/res combo etc.

Everything I've had from XSPC (blocks, res, fittings) have always been great quality and good prices. Barrow seem good vaule and Bykski seem good value for blocks (if you hunt about ;) )

Edit: HWlabs rads and Alphacool rads/blocks I had were also great quality

I recently bought a TUF 5090 waterblock and the quality was in my experience the usual high quality I'd come to personally expect from EK. I believe they do have a new manufacturer though.
