Ek Xres pump problem

I have received the ek xres pump/combo and have a problem with the pwm cable.
The pump is powered by the molex and has a 2 wire cable to go into any pwm header on my mobo, which is a maximus hero x.
The trouble is I do not get any reading what so ever. It doesn't even detect it plugged in.
Is there any way I can fix this or should I return it?

Is the pump running? Just to double check it's not an accurate reading but zero RPM...

I don't believe the motherboard could detect it being plugged in if it wasn't running. There's no other logic/communication over fan headers.

The resivour is full and everything in bios is set to pwm but when I go to monitor the header I get two options. Ignore or monitor. When I select monitor it says n/a.
I've tried it in fan, cpu and w_pump+ header.

How about a photo? Just to check - I'd expect this cable to have two wires, going to third and fourth pins on the plug. If you look at the fan headers with the plastic tab above the pins, I'd see wires going to the leftmost two pins. Right?

Don’t put it in the CPU header, they don’t always show the reading anyway it’s kinda buggy. In the Q-Fan section of BIoS set the W+ Header to PWM and it should do once you reboot.

The cable is in the waterpump+. I have set it to pwm as in photo 1 but when I return to select monitor it says N/A.
When I use ISuite the only way I can get the pump to stay on pwm after reboot is to select Q-fan and select Aio pump. Athough it says N/A, when I go into it I can select a curve and it follows it even after reboot.
But still no rpm as you can see in the bottom right of photo 3.
