Anyone else notice the following when running an i7 (4790K in my case) and El Capitan..

Recently updated to El Capitan and began pre-rendering a load of 1:1 previews.
Had a look at the activity monitor, and noticed CPU utilisation was 90%+ sometimes 99.5% utilisation. It was practically like running prime 95..
Before I swear I was lucky if the CPU hit 60%. I think I remember it spending most of the time at 40%. Anyone else find this?

Well there's been an update to Lightroom now 2015.2 so will be interesting to see if you find a difference.

I've not had any issues but there are reports that the update is crashing a lot on Mac, many think it's down to the new import interface and by closing that it helps.

I've not upgraded to El Capita yet, think I'll wait a little longer.

Something to do with the new Metal API perhaps?

Well they said it would help with rendering etc so that could be it I guess.

Problem being the new update is supposed to be running really slow so maybe worth holding off the update unless you've already done it. I've updated LR on my MacBook Pro only and haven't seen any issues but I've not done much since the update.

I've updated to LR6 (latest update applied) from LR5 and it's horribly slow. Had no issues previously.

I'm on Windows 10 with an i7 3.2Ghz quad core, 12GB RAM, SSD drive...
