I'm actually astonished at this scam, I've heard of people scamming on ebay but this is on another level and I'm amazed the website is still active.

You see a car which is mint condition and around £10k cheaper on ebay, contact the seller re interest and then you're told about this company called Drumenny Transport who use an Escrow service, so they're effectively a "middleman". Well the website exists and if it wasn't for the poor English you'd think it was all legit, they take the money from you and promise a 10 day trial period where the car is delivered and if you aren't happy with it you get a full refund. They even have testimonials from various motor forums and when you click on them they all look legit! Until you click on anything on the page then it takes you to a blank page.

How the heck this website hasn't been taken down I don't know.

This is the site https://www.drumennytransport.co.uk/

If this is new to you, you are definitely going to get relieved of a few grand at some point.

Escrow scams have been around for yonks.
Ha, I fix computers and sell them for a living so I'm probably more in tune with how scammers operate than most people you'll meet.

In other words (and unfortunately) I get phone calls from people who have been scammed.

The point of my post was trying to understand how such an obvious scam is allowed to exist. Surely people have been stung by this so why is the website even in existence? Are there not powers for such websites to be taken down? Its astounding.

All the testimonials are "legit " and takes you to many posts on many car forums. Of course they may well have spent many years posting fake reviews across lots of forums. I take that back. The links work but the original forum page isnt on the forums website. Clever.

Maybe that was just one site. Google suggests they are legit but all the cars they sell are repossessions. Hence why they are cheap I suppose. And they take credit cards (albeit with a hefty 4% fee) so if you dont get your car at least you can claim the money back.
Yes and the funny thing is, if you start reading those forum posts you'll realise the writing style is exactly the same, same punctuation, fluidity, spelling, grammar, they all just merge together.
