As I'm planning on re-doing the loop in my 800D fairly soon (basically whenever I get round to it/buy the new stuff) I was thinking of moving the pump to possibly allow a modification to the base of the case for a 240 rad.
As a new location, I was considering using elastic cord to hold the pump in the empty space in the 5.25" bays, but I was wondering if anyone else has tried doing something like this, and how well it worked/any problems with it.

Main reason for wanting to mount in this way, is it should eliminate any form of vibration from the pump, as it's mounted with elastic, but is there any other problems I haven't thought of?

Should be fine.
I guessing the loop order stops you just hanging it off the hose.

'p' clips work well is using bungee type elastic.
or if using the ribbon type, use a washer to clamp it in place.

Cheers guys, that's basically what I was thinking! I didn't really wan to just hang it off the tubing, as I don't like the idea of the weight of the pump, and the vibrations risking working the tubing connection loose!

That's actually why I bought the elastic ages ago! But then I just decided to remove all mechanical drives from my PC, so it doesn't matter now!
