For those thinking of getting morrowind I would recommend that you get the GOTY version which can be found for a tenner.
If you have the two expansions installed then you are able to use any of the mods that are out there.
This thread has good links to get mods.
I would suggest running a mod such as Ultimate textures complete. Will give you a frame rate hit but very much worth it.
I love the atmosphere created in Oblivion, being out in the wilderness is just amazing and the casting while holding a sword is great. There are many improvements in Oblivion that make the game but I have to say IMO the dumbed down gameplay spoils it.
Also many of these improvements are in someway possible with mods in morrowind.
I've not become hooked on Oblivion which I am quite gutted about
So I'm going to retry Morrowind and see how that seems now.
