Is this game worth picking up for £10?

I hear great things about this game but don't actually know anyone who plays it to ask :p, anyone here play this game and can recommend it? Is it similar to WoW or Diablo ? What can this game be compared to?

Thanks in advance

Oblivion is a cracking open world rpg. It's first person action oriented and set in a custom fantasy setting (4th game the series but requires no knowledge of previous games). Whilst you can specialise as a fighter/wizard/rogue you can also pick some traits from all 3.

You can easily get 100+ hours from the game by exploring the world and completing side quests.

The team did Fallout 3 next which is a very similar game though set in a post apocalyptic setting and it's heavily rumoured they're currently working on hard on Elder Scrolls V.

It's a little dated but one of the games of the generation and definately recommended. It oozes atmosphere and gives you a very large world to explore. My only real complaint is the main story near the end gets a little trite.

Fantastic game, one of my all time faves... If you don't mind the outdated graphics (still not that bad), then by all means dig in.

Only advice, read up on how to start playing the game, where to go, who to see... Because honestly, you are literally chucked out into the world after doing a hour or so training/walk through of the game in a cave (you will see)...

For TES noobies, it can be hugely daunting, so do your homework!

are the expansions any good? i never bothered with them as i went onto fallout 3

Very good for the price. Shivering isles can add on a fair amount of time and has some odd quests :D

Other bits are just mew locations within the main map. Such as a new mage tower which you can own and chuck loads of stuff in.

Great game, over the years I've put in well over 450 hours of playing it.
Even when you finish the main quest theres 100's of side missions and quests to complete.

I can't wait for the next one to be released. :D

get it on steam m8. is £15 which includes shivering isles and knights of the nine. plus no hassle with updates/patches

FYI the Console version is a goty edition and comes with all the expansions for c. £10.. and unlike the Steam version the OP can sell it on afterwards.

I'm not a huge fan of the fantasy setting, prefer more 'real' settings, but, I love this game - finished it on the PC first, now own it on my PS3.

Hmmmmmm, going to have to play it again soon - I'm still working my way through it again :)

IMO, it's still worth full price.

Just last week I bought Oblivion GOTY on the PS3 second hand for 10 euro and once again I am enjoying the game, even after spending 200 hours on the PC version.

It's down the the variation of the game tbh. You could spend 100+ hours on one char, the moment you start another, game is drastically different in gameplay.

I made the mistake of buying it for the 360 after playing the PC version maxed out. It looked terrible :(

I have no idea if the PS3 version is better.

Thanks, I'll be definitely getting it then. It's £15 for the PS3 at the purple shirt retailer. The £10 one had knights of the nine but was the non game of the year edition so I got to fork out an extra £5 if i want shimmering islands.

thought he was getting it for pc m8. didnt know it was 4 console. especially since he was comparing it to WOW and diablo
