Elder Scrolls V

Damn, I thought there was some news I had missed.

Its been widely considered there will be a new Elder Scrolls game, in fact there have been 77 two hundred post threads over on the official forum speculating on exactly when the announcement will be. Excitement was rife during the summer, but it came to nothing.

I don't know where the 'direct sequel' came from, the smart money is on the game being set 200 years after the events in Oblivion. Oh and there may be ladders in the game :D.

Unfortunately not surprising continuing to modify and use the same engine. Just means I'll probably wait several months after it's out when the modders have really fixed things up with HQ texture packs, UI improvements, etc.

Superb if it is a direct sequel, hope it is set in Cyrodiil again which has been my favoured province so far (that said there was only morrowind and the shivering isles plac) I imagine it won't be though and that is probably wisest. Just didn't like the weird twists going on in the other places and Cyrodiil felt more genuine and medieval with it's inns, landscape and cities.

Outstanding news!

"I can say it is on the existing platforms, which we're really happy with. You almost feel like you have a new console when you see the game"

I hope the graphical improvements are significant on the PC too, bah these daft consoles holding us PC gamers back!

To be honest, Oblivion is the only game I know where modding was absolutely essential for the gameplay (mainly for levelling).

All other games I play vanilla except for messing around with a few graphics mods purely for kicks.

I hope they get it right this time, because modded it's one of the all time greats.

Just heard about this, cant wait. Loved oblivion just thought it got a bit repetitive in the middle due to long travelling

Id Tech 5 would have been amazing, surprised they haven't considering their all under the same ownership now.
