Hey all!

I came up with this idea just now as I'm fed up with traffic.

I don't have far to work so I'm thinking about getting a bike and a "Electric Bike Conversion Kit"

Do you guys have any knowledge as to which kit isthe best?

I would say if you are planning on using it for manual cycling also, then do bear in mind that most of them are stupidly heavy and will take there toll when trying to cycle normally.

The conversion kits don't look bad as you can use them on a normal lightweight frame.

I would think about 21-25mph (guess) and what I seen on google, depends on the set-up though, frame size/weight, motor type, motor quality, battery set-up/power/weight/weight of the person riding.

What speed would you be looking at on a standard electric bike which has been derestricted?

Mine will do 40mph +.

Not exactly standard though ;-) Runs 2250 watts - 3 hp. Weeighs 22kg :-)
