Anyone using an electric screwdriver for building duties and if so do you find it makes things easier?

When ever I do a build I always find that because I apply pressure I can never get screw going 100% straight and this can cause problems with devices that require multiple screws. For example I always end with a motherboard concaving slightly or on a fan the last screw has to be angled slightly because the other screws cause it veer off slightly.

Would using an electric screwdriver solve these problems and if so what's good one to use?

If you're motherboard is angled or the last screws won't go in straight, you've done it wrong. They should all go in properly with little effort if you've lined things up properly.

A hand screwdriver will give you greater feel to make sure you have the thread engaged properly, and allows you to feel exactly how tight you are screwing things down.

For putting a PC together, and electric has too much chance of stripping threads or heads (leaving bits of swarf in your PC), is likely to tighten things too much, or even skipping off the head of a screw and bouncing onto your motherboard.

My tips are:

Make sure the screws are in properly and not cross threaded. You can do this by turning a screw anticlockwise to get it to seat in the thread before you do it up.

Put all the screws in loosely with half a turn, then tighten them up in sequence. This means you get all the screws threaded but can still move the board around as necessary to get it all lined up.

Always place the screw in the whole seat the screw diver then turn it back until you feel it drop into the threading then tighten it (not to much) its not that hard.
