Electric shower water pressure

You could buy a power shower? Some have pumps akin to sandblasters :D.

Is it too low pressure to function correctly or just not powerful enough to your liking?

If it's the former I think there are small pumps to increase the pressure but I wouldn't put a big pump on it as the showers probably not built to take it.

Take the head off and see how large the opening is. It could be restricted I drilled mine out and got a boost.

Looking at the specs of that shower it can take 10 bar. So maybe look into a small booster pump for it rather than swapping it out.

Edit: actually I vaguely remember being told you can't put a pump onto a mains fed shower.

Just not enough power for my liking. The shower in the main bathroom is much better but it's a conventional type.

this is where the problem lies, your house has two showers and the combination of one electric and onecombi boiler fed means you can run them both at the same time but inevitably one will be a lot better than the other. If you really want to improve your onsuite then you need to decide if you need to be able to run both showers at the same time. If not then rip out the electric shower and get a thermostatic mixer like the bathroom just accept that you will not be able to use both together. If you do need to run both at the same time then be prepared to pay as you will be looking at a mains pressure hot water cyclinder or pumps off a conventional one.

We have one combi shower and one electric and we only really use the electric when the other is occupied which was why we build a second bathroom!

Isn't flow reduced when input water is colder so as to allow it to heat up to the correct amount? May have to wait until it the weather gets a bit warmer to see increased flow.

The spec says, "Water system compatibility - Mains cold system".

It is connected to the mains high pressure system not a lower pressure connection from cold tank?

Otherwise as has been said they sometimes struggle in the winter when the water feed is colder?

We have the 8.5Kw one and I am at loggerheads with the builder as it is far too underspecced for the use.

Water pressure coming out of it is crap and I need it turned all the way around to the hot setting to have a luke warm shower. Whilst it may be ok for down south up here in North Yorkshire it just doesn't have enough power to heat the colder mains water.

If I turn the head upside down when on the pressure is that bad it hardly has enough to force the water out!

It shouldn't be that bad there is something more significant going on there, while an 8.5kw shower will be no match for a combi boiler fed system or a pumped power shower it should be capable of spraying water vertically!

No actually, my taps are a bit on the poor side although not terrible. I think I'll get the developer to send a plumber round to have a look at the pressure.

Taps are normally a good sign something else is amiss. They're simple with little restriction compared to an electric shower.

How about neighbours any complaints? I know it's not the normal thing to chat to neighbours about :D but it would give an indication if the issues in your house alone or it might be a much bigger issue.

Haven't asked any of them, the taps are something I'd forgotten about. I had a lass round not too long ago and she said the taps were poor, just didn't put two and two together. Have sent them an email and will hopefully get a plumber round at some point.

Best of luck. Hopefully it gets sorted as weak showers suck. Unless it's pummelling you into the ground it just doesn't feel worth it :(.

I haven't no idea what it's connected to, just the regular cold system I'd have thought?

If it was the cold mains I would have thought the pressure would be higher? Ask builder? May be connected to low (non mains) pressure plumbing?
