I am just about to install a plumbed in Miele steam oven, we have a water softener in the house and the instruction manual says:

If a domestic water softener is installed, please make sure
that the electrical conductivity of the water is maintained.

I know its probably a stupid question but the cations from the Na+ will maintain the electrical conductivity???

Fill a bucket of water from your house, stand in it and touch a live wire... If you get a shock, it conducts fine :p
