I don't know what's doing it at the moment, but I've got a very annoying electrical whine that I can hear over anything else going on in my pc case.
It's only recently become a nuisance, either it's getting worse or I'm just noticing it more.

Any idea what it could be down to?

Wasn't sure what to stick this under as I didn't know what was causing the problem ;p

Fans are fairly new, as is the psu :(

Might be a bit of dust. Give them a good clean with a blast of compressed air and oil with machine oil. I use the sewing machine oil from sewing shops as it's much cheaper :)

Just unplugged all of the fans and I'm still getting the whine, which means I can pretty much put it down to psu components or the psu fan.
Looking at contacting Corsair as they seem to have a pretty good rma service and as it's supposed to be a "silent" psu it seems they're willing to replace one with a fault like this (having read around elsewhere ;))

Unplugged my harddrives and it seems to be my new Seagate Barracuda (only a month old). Noticed it's started to make the "grinding" noise as it searches/loads something.

Possibly on its way out already? :/

not sure but you can pick up a hdd silencer that fits in a 5.25inch bay for peanuts at a known electronics retailer (high street) so . i would recommend that as i doubt it will be going out, your probably just noticing it more. though i have a hitachi drive and older, i get the same noise, run smart for me and it will scan for hdd problems. for me its found on a tab on speedfan.

This may sound ridiculous, but I've moved my pc to the floor rather than on a stand next to my desk and the sound is certainly a lot less noticeable. Something to do with resonance :p
