You are going to love this.

So the last couple of weeks i have known i am due my quarterly leccy bill, total bumma 4 times a year they kick me in the sacks for a fair few quid. My entire house is leccy and the bill is around 150 quid most quarters. No biggy but still 150 coming out your fun money is crap.
So i just heard the letterbox looked over my shoulder to see the dreaded white envelope with window. You just know that anything with a window in it will cost you money. There it was a huge envelope with there pretty little sig in the corner, gutted as that means cut backs for the next week and no fun for me. :(
I met it head on and rushed the letterbox grabbing hold of the bulky envelope and ripped the neck out of it spilling the contents all over the place. Imagine my horror when i saw the figure £554.30 on the page. :eek:









Then imagine the pleasure i felt when i saw the words IN CREDIT written after it. Straight on the phone i am like what are you doing with my 500 quid. :p Matey says to me i am sorry mate i am sure it will be better in your bank than ours. I said don't be silly mate it will be much better with me wasting it on having a good time Now GIMME. :p
I have left the odd 154.30 in credit they are sending me my 400 quid fun money. WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO.

you dont mention why your in credit, a little more detail would make it interesting :)
 
i changed from BG because of this, they continually took more each month than was needed and i had to ring up every few months for refunds.

annoying as hell.
 
More detail.
I had a meter change a couple of months ago and they installed one of those little trick ones. Previously i had this huge clunky noisy thing. Every now and again it used to go into some kind of spasm and freak me and my staffy dog out. :p
Anyways they have sent me 9 sheets of readings and apparently it has been dodgey for a while. It's great news and i can only think of spend spend spend.
Straight out the blue though makes it fantastic as i was thinking of spending at least 150 on leccy and not only do i keep that i get the 400 and i have already paid the next quarter. It's all good here. :cool:

Presumably his past bills have been based on an estimate of his meter reading and they've recently taken a reading and found that he'd used a lot less than they thought and corrected his account accordingly.

When ever I get a utility bill I always check any estimates against the meter to ensure that we're not too far out of line.

/EDIT - or maybe i'm just guessing and getting it wrong based on the post above :p

they have a habit of taking an old guestimate and continuing to use it even tho the person is in credit. i was over £100 in credit and they still took the inflated guestimate amount each month!! making me more in credit. useless tools.
 
We're currently in credit at:

Scottish Power - Electricity & Gas
Anglian Water - Water
BT - Phone

All down to them using estimates and "standard payments" for the last x months.
We've left ourselves in credit with Anglian & BT however we asked Scottish for £200 back and that still left us £50 in credit with them.
