It's my mums birthday coming up and both she and my dad are huge darts fans.

They used to have a board up in the living room, but after so many holes in the wall and the wooden floor, they took it down. :p
The other day a mate suggested getting an electronic board, so I was wondering if anyone used them or could give any recommendations.

I'm looking to spend around £50.

They are called soft tip boards. Very popular in Japan and mainland Europe.

To be honest, you don't need to spend £50 on a board, none are that expensive. This one is £27 and if a great board http://www.dartscorner.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=342_1090&products_id=4543

Maybe spend the extra on some better tungsten barrelled soft tip darts and an oche mat. Build up a ice little kit.

I sometimes enjoy playing soft tip. The auto scoring is great and they normally come with extra games and computer opponents for solo practice.

Wow, thanks Rob.

Can you recommend any soft tip darts? Or are the darts that come with the board decent?

Sorry about the delay in replying, but no I can't really recommend any as They are much of a muchness.

All I would say is to get an 80%+ tungsten set with a weight of between 18-20 grams. That should be a nice dart for them to use.

I had to place the order yesterday, her birthdays on Wednesday, so wanted to make sure it arrives before then.

Thanks for the reply though, if they complain about the darts, I'll order them a new set.
