Hi all,

Ive got a VGA box today, but its got a non uk plug on the adaptor (two flat prongs). On the adaptor it says

Switching Power Supply
Model: STC3.0-06
Input AC100-240V 50-60hz
Output DC5V 800MA

On the actual device it says DC5V...

now ive got a uk adaptor which fits, and says

DVE
Model DSA - 0151A-05 A
Input 200-240V 50/60hz 0.4A
Output +5V 2.4A

and they've both got the same kind of symbol on them like this

Will this work? or am I going to blow it up?

Yeah it's called positive tip. Make sure the ID/OD of the plug & socket are the same and the PSU you have is over rated. So you should be good to go.
the what? ID/OD?? sorry I know nothing about electronics!

Inner and Outer Diameter I would imagine.

ahh i see. They appear to be the same.. The only thing is the metal connector on the new one is a bit shorter than the original. Would that matter?
