I have a 50gb SSD which is fine for 90% of the time my PC is on so I decided to try and switch my 500gb HDD so I could reboot my PC and hard switch on or off the SATA drive with my games and large data on.
I purchased a molex switch which appears to pass through the red and yellow and switch the black which I believe is ground. Testing it with a molex fan it works fine.
However when I then attach a sata adaptor to the molex out of the switch my HDD spins up regardless or the switch position.
Any ideas why this isn't working? I cant see how the HDD is spinning when the switch (hence black wires) are broken.
Thanks
