Hi all,
I have finally decided to upgrade my computer after 4-5 years and was looking at the Eliminator deal. I do a lot of animation/rendering etc so I am pretty set on the quad core but am taking time over the graphics card. Firstly im aware the 5970 is out of stock but is this just for the named versions or as the deal says they have the eliminator in stock with the standard 5970? Im not set on the 5970 as currently my 22" is only a 1680x1050 but this my well improve at some point. Im also not sure on the size of the 5970 with the 902 (may have to go for a 1200), even though you can fit it by removing drive bays. Im considering getting a named 5870 (even though this is even closer to 59xx in price) and then maybe adding another one in a year or so but the prices now for a named 5870 seems like i may as well just spring the extra for the 5970, get the raw goods now, instead of waiting.
I can afford the 5970 and really dont want to have to crossfire the 5870 too soon and having the extra power of the 5970 now would be nice
Eliminator spec.
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel
Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir CPU Cooler
LG CH08LS10 8x Blu-Ray Reader/16x DVD±RW - Black
Graphics Card
Case Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case - Black
Intel Core i7 920 2.66Ghz D0 Stepping overclocked to 4.00GHz!
Corsair TX 750W ATX SLI Compliant Power Supply
Hard Drive Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM
I have researched this so much its really starting to hurt my head, but amassing as much info as possible helps.
Any help is greatly appreciated
