hi

does anyone know how i connect my HTP-GS1 pioneer xbox surround system to my 360elite

ive heard that it connects by optical so does that mean i use that audio dongle cable supplied with the xbox?

cheers

Yes, use the Optical dongle if you're using the HDMI cable to connect to your TV. If you're using the Component cable then just use the Component cable's Optical output.

Has anyone seen the official xbox 360 hdmi cable in the shops yet?

I can't find any online or in some of the high street shops. I only need the optical dongle but I can't find it on any auction websites either.

This is for the 360 Premium with the HDMI port.

If you remove the Component cable's plastic cover, you can then fit any HDMI cable into the HDMI port and then use the Component cable's Optical output.

There is a link somewhere that just has the guy popping off the plastic cover with a knife.

That's solution is great. However if I was to return the 360 to the store they would probably want the component cable back.

I can import one from Asia but it's £25, I'll probably just wait some more.

Does anyone else think that the optical connection on the 360 VGA cable is loose? When I put in my optical cable it falls out if I touch it slightly, whereas if I use the same cable on the PS3 it's solid.

Just wondering if anyone had the same issue. Sorry for going off topic in this thread :p

Yeah, that's one thing I've always found with the optical connectors on Microsoft's cables - they are never a snug fit. The cable doesn't snap into place with a satisfying click like it does on Sony's machines.

Yeh the TOSlink doesnt click in on the 360. Very annoying but I don't move my 360 so I can handle it.
