Hi

keep seeing the Elite controller sell out in places as soon as it is in stock.
so there must be something about it.

i currently have the Lunar white controller and i like the rubber back on the controller, but was wondering whether the Elite controller was worth a purchase or is it massive overkill for a console?

do many games allow you to edit the controls?

Rip off? No. Overkill? Probably.

Everyone who has one loves it, even if it's purely for the build quality. It is the best XO controller out there, it's just whether you use an XO enough to warrant the price.

Personally, I don't but, I have toyed with getting one for the PC at some point although I'm quite happy with my Lunar White pad at the moment.

Depends how much you use your console. I use mine a lot and bought mine for £120 on release and I love it. Feels premium, you can customize it how you like, save profiles for button mappings, curve on the thumb sticks etc. The paddles are great, I only use 2 and have them mapped for sprint and jump so when playing FPS like Destiny or Halo you thumbs hardly need to leave the sticks at all.

Overall I think it's been a great purchase and well worth it. Love it.

However I wouldn't pay the inflated price. AT £120 worth it. At nearly £200, nope. You might as well buy the Elite console and sell the console, would work out cheaper in the end!

thanks all.

i only have and use my xbox one, sold my PS4 never used it and sold my graphic card in PC because i just couldnt get used to using KB/M whilst gaming and preferred the just sitting on the sofa and using console :)

i saw it was on sale today at £102, which id pay.
suppose could buy it and if i dont like it, i wouldnt lose that much on it

Love mine, bought it at £120. Like kwjay just said above I wouldn't pay more than £120 for it.

But would I recommend getting one?? Hell yes best controller out there by a mile.

On destiny before the elite my k/d ratio was 0.01 now I'm in the top 2 players lolololololol.

Just joking but it has made my gaming much easier I find.

I wouldn't pay £120 for it but I do have one as it came with my console. Nice and feels good, I can see why FPS players would buy it though.

You are kidding me. Everything I've read says Bone controllers can only be used wired to PCs. Wireless is a no no! But apparently not! Thanks for that info!

When I got mine just after release, they didn't have any. But on the off chance one afternoon I called my local game store and they said they just received one so asked them to put it aside for me. They were more than happy to do so, went after and picked it up. Only paid about £10 as I had a lot of saved up credit with them.

So try and call them if u can.

best controller ever imo the standard controller feels springy and spongy now after using elite I'm sure those who have also switched know what i mean

They couldn't be used wirelessly for a long time because MS hadn't released the dongle for them.

They released the wireless dongle in October (presumably when the elite controller was released?) last year (with Windows 7 and 8 support coming in December apparently).

Rip off imo, but I'm not a "pro" gamer. I took mine back after one day as it just didn't justify the outlay, stuck with my forza 6 pad(rubber grip), which is awesome, and have a lunar white as backup.
