Hi,

Since my original X360 died and is now being repaired with Microsoft I caved in and bought a new Elite :D Was only going to get a core but I thought the HDMI would be useful to free up connections on the back of my TV.

Only thing is I cannot see a way to use the HDMI lead whilst seperatly using an optical cable to send the sound to my speakers.

I am aware that the HDMI lead carries both video and audio but quite frankly Z5500's > TV speakers any day.

Any ideas?

D'oh! Just found that very cable :o

Ta anyway :)

Running it on component as I'm upstairs on my Dell 2407 atm.

However I am seeing the odd bit of sparklies which worries me....

Don't know about the sparklies. Didn't graphical glitches equal bad GPU chip/memory?

**Edit**
Haven't tried my brother's Elite yet. Waiting for the migration cable before we fire it up. As soon as it arrives we are going to hook it up to the 46" Sony X series in our front room and marvel at it in 1080p (which the bloody TV will only do over HDMI).

I think it could be an issue with the monitor as other devices connected via component produce the same problems....

Also I'm just gonna whack my 20GB drive on the side for now since I have no other console :p
