- I know, its another one of those dull RROD threads, but I thought this was a bit strange, my Falcon Elite I purchased just over a year ago has RROD'd - the odd thing is my Elite has been standing vertically since I bought it, however after a tidy up now sits horizontally on the same shelf - within 2 days of sitting horizontally it has a RROD error - seems awfully coincidental ?

I personally dont belive this stand it up over lay it down should work both ways, 360 Do die so unfortuenatly yours has decided to do it now would have done it eventually anyway :P

Ring MS if its RROD error they will repair it for free as thats coverd under 3 years. Lucky my 360 is still ok tohu gets louder by the day >.<

Iirc only problems people had with it standing in different positions i.e. vertical, was disc scratching.

fair enough, I suppose its better to get the RROD out of the way before Forza 3, MW2 and OF:DR hit the shelves - I'd have been it bit more annoyed then would be an understatement !

Loads of people say stuff like this is coincidental, but I'm not so sure anymore. Like my Xbox - I get dirty disc errors when it's horitzontal, I don't get any when it's vertical.

I don't think it's moving thme that kills them, i move my xbox from my bedroom where it's vertical to my living room where it's horizontal all the time i've not had a problem yet.

Your probably right, but as you say you do move yours all the time, sometimes I think electronics 'settle in' when being left in a certain position for a long time and moving them sometimes seems to disturb them, I know it doesn't make much sense but I've had it happen with quite few things, not just the 360, and it's usually after moving said item after it's been sitting in the same position for a prolonged amount of time be it months/years, especially old TV sets, I've quite a few die on me after moving them.

how long do xboxs have warranty for as i got a game warranty that lasts 3 years and they replace my xbox instantly even the controller and headset which is good
