Is Elpida ram any good?

Seen a company selling used 4GB sticks for a bargain price so just wondering what the quality is like.

I think it depends more on the chip vendor than the stick manufacturer. Take a look at the specs and you'll be able to compare it to other makes. At the end of the day it'll either work or it won't, if it doesn't send it back...

It's not really as simple as 'it'll work or it won't' though is it. When I first started building pc's I always used cheap unbranded ram and the computers worked but would crash often. Changed the ram to a good brand and hey presto, no crashing.

Elpida are a big brand and are used by the likes of Dell so I reckon it will be okay. If you're concerned about memory errors test with MemTest or similar.

Thanks, will do that. I've ordered 2 x 4GB sticks for my laptop so when they come I'll get it memtested
