Anyone any experience of these budget floorstanders? I'm guessing they ain't gonna be up to much at £70 but you never know.....

IIRC I read some reviews which weren't too favourable, even for the money. If they're the set I'm thinking of, I saw them when I was in a RS, and they looked like they could be destroyed by a roundhouse from a toddler :D

Got a set myself. I really like them and they sound good to me. Although I've not really got anything to compare them with but I got mine for £60 from RS after some haggling. They do the job perfectly for what I want.

if your on a budget I would recommend them :D

They are bookshelf speakers at £69. If goin new, I'd personally stump a little extra and go for the Tannoy F1 which are supposed to be excellent value at £89.

Though actually, I'd go second hand and look at some Wharfedale 9.1 or Mission 751 or similar :)

i got my monitor 3's for £15 off of ebay, great for what they are, im thinking of upgrading and ill be going second hand again.

Mission 751 or similar :)
Much love for these speakers; just lent my brother my set of these and a 20yr old NAD amp I got from the bay (for £25), and he's absolutely blown away by the difference in sound in comparison to the creative set he was using.

He's already thinking of investing in some decent headphones and possibly a soundcard, after 1hr of listening!

erk sorry, have just realised that I have indeed posted the wrong model. Must have got confused clicking around on the Richer Sounds website. :(
I am actually after decent budget floorstanders so are the Concept 200's or Tangent Millenium 200's any good ??
Apologies for the confusion.
The store in Sheffield appear to have some Mordaut Short 906I's for £80 (RRP £300!!), which sounds too good to be true, is it?

The 906Is aren't too bad for £80 at all, but were overpriced at £3-400 IMO. It does sound a pretty good offer though, I'd guess they're ex-display so might be worth checking the condition if you can get there easily, as they'll be much better than cheap 'standers. The MS906i have been compared against the Tannoy Custom on avforums and apparently the MS are better, so if you can get them and they haven't been subjected to 2 world wars, as they're cheaper atm snap 'em up :)
