I am currently with Tiscali (I know, yuck!) and I have been planning to change ISPs for a while. If I was to migrate to another provider, would I still be able to use my current Tiscali email account?

Worth speaking to them - some let you pay to keep it for a either a limited period or forever. Some don't. Don't know what Tiscali's policy is.

This is one reason why it's a good idea to have your email separate from your ISP - your own domain is the best bet, as they're so cheap.

I've had a tiscaliemail working for the last 5 years and never had it closed down.

An old freeserve address stills works but has to be recovered every 90 days via the webpage.

Thers a very good chance you can continue to access the address via the webmail facility if you leave and pick up but ot post out via an email client.

As noted to be certain you need to ask if not tiscali then on one of their forums.

you will be able to receive you tiscali emails but only be able to send out on your new isp email address unless you use tiscali webmail
This isn't true either - you will only be able to send out using your new ISPs mail servers, but you can still use your tiscali address as the 'From' address. Being able to receive will depend on whether Tiscali close the account, which you will need to speak to them / ask on one of their user forums about.
