I have just installed Vista but am not ready to make the move to full use of it just yet.

I am using Outlook 2007 and wanted to access my email from both installations of windows. I had hoped I could set one copy of outlook to use the others data file, so when I received email on XP I could still see it when I logged in to Vista later.

However when I tried to do this it told me I didn't have the right permissions, I added myself to the permissions list but still got the same error.

Is there anything I can do?

I used to do this all the time with Outlook, so shouldn't be a problem. You might need access to the folders and not just the file so make sure the permissions are set correctly there too. I used to keep the .pst on my data partition so never ran into any permissions issues.
