Hi

I've recently decided to try Linux Mint as an alternative to Windows (actually I am being a bit of a cheapskate and don't want to fork out for another copy of Windows 7 for my 2nd PC :p)

I am looking for an equivalent of Windows Live Mail for Linux - a mail client that can support multiple email accounts and will keep the folders I have set up within Hotmail, rather than just dump them all into one Inbox.

Does such an email client exist for Linux?

Thanks

I tried Thunderbird but it just downloaded all my emails into the inbox and did not recreate the folders I had set up in Hotmail. I even lost a few newly downloaded emails, but that may have been something I did without knowing.

I may give Evolution a try. Thanks.

Just had a brief look at Evolution and it appears not to support webmail directly, but supports POP, which Hotmail has the facility for, which is not quite what I am after. Again this will not keep the folder structure or synchronise the moving of emails between folders.

My search continues...

Evolution supports IMAP. As does Thunderbird. If your mail service is IMAP compatible it will show the folders correctly; for example GMail works perfectly with IMAP.

I'm not familiar with Hotmail at all - you might be hitting natural M$ barriers?
