I've just recieved an email from The Xbox Live Team saying....

"Thank you for joining Xbox Live. You'll be happy to hear you were lucky
enough to qualify for FREE Microsoft Points. We realise your code took a
while to get here so thanks for your patience!

Here is your unique code for the free Microsoft Points:"

Then i have 4 sets of codes! Has anyone else had this sort of email before?

I joined Live about 6months ago!

Post the codes they sent you, lots of scammers around.

You make me laugh! The codes look like this..
aaaaa-bbbbb-ccccc-ddddd-eeeee

Also my Bro has recieved the same email but his codes are different so i would say it's real. The only thing i coulld think of that would happen if these codes are fake is not work! cos you need to enter them Select Redeem Prepaid Card or Promotional Code option in the dashboard!

Thanks for your input tho ;)

As for the codes i have never heard of these e-mails and can only think it is suspect if they say click a link to get them.

Just check the message header to check where the send of the e-mail is actually from

This is the full email with codes missing of course. Looks real but then

Thank you for joining Xbox Live. You'll be happy to hear you were lucky

Sorry but it just bugs me when people reply with a non helpful comment.

Would you open an attachment or put a code into your computer from an email if you weren't sure that the email was genuine?

If you would then never mind

I got the same email this morning, never even thought about it being a scam thing. Paranoid much?! :p Fired in the codes earlier on and you get 500 points for each code, meaning 2000points in total. Quite nice of Microsoft, certainly wasn't expecting it, but as it said in the email you only have 60days to use them. I think I'll buy the guitar hero track packs, waste of money if you're actually buying them, but for free :D

You shouldn't apologise and then continue as if you aren't sorry. If you never clicked a link/opened an attachment then you are safe. A 360 is not a PC, they are very different especially in terms of security. Entering an invalid code into the Live points coupon box on the 360 will not mess anything up.
