I bought my own domain name............www.gavinprosser.co.uk a few years ago and signed up for some hosting which also included email.

So i had different accounts for everything....

[email protected]

[email protected]

[email protected]

now for this i just went into the control panel of 123 and changed the name server to the one i was told to by web host. They are now shutting down and i needed something new. Seeing as i dont really need any web hosting at the minute i signed up to

www.godaddys.com email only as i need more than 10 email accounts....
Premium Plan:
• 100 Email Address • 2000MB Total Storage

Now when im in the godaddy control panel i can add email accounts etc, but they say
pending setup: validating MX record

Then i found this page...

http://help.godaddy.com/article.php?article_id=321 and these details, To Change the MX Record

1. Log on to your hosting provider or third-party domain name system manager.
2. Change your MX records to:
* MX 0 - smtp.secureserver.net
* MX 10 - mailstore1.secureserver.net

Does that mean i put the above details into my name servers on 123 now?

As it stands the mail server details i need for outgoing and incoming are both mail.gavinprosser.co.uk, will that of changed?

Cheers all and i hope u know what i mean!

MX records are different from Nameservers. Im not sure it 123-reg does DNS hosting free, as you will need that in order to add those MX Entries.

You will probably need to use a mail server address that godaddy.com specify although I couldn't say as I have never used their service.

To be honest you would have done better getting some cheap hosting with everything included.
