Hi

This may be an easy fix, but is killing me to find the solution.

For some reason, i am unable to click a link in an email. When i do i get a text saying that 'This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in place on this computer. Contact your administrator'

Is this a case of Vista being uber-cautious or is there something else at work here?

Cheers

Should be there!

Ok, have reset it and restarted all programs, but am still getting the same issue.

Should i juts delete the registry key that they refer to in the fix? as havent got a working one to import

Try changing the value of -nohome to %1 instead of deleting it, remember to close/reload OL after!

The above 2 methods are the most common way to restore hyperlink issues in OL and if one doesn't work then I'm stuffed!

mrk, guess you will be like the easter turkey then.

Have tried both methods and still no links.

Just tried it in word and get the same message. May have some security lockdown going on that i 1-dont know about or 2-cant remember putting there

Can't be security as I had the same issue when first installing Office 2007 but now works fine (I remember resetting web settings to solve it!)

Weird eh!

This seems to be caused by uninstalling Firefox (I uninstalled Firefox 3 beta) or whatever your default browser happens to be.

Fix: Go to Control Panel, Add Remove Programs. Then on the left, choose Program Access and Defaults. Open up whichever configuration is currently selected and change the default web browser selection to something other that what is currently chosen. Click OK, then restart Outlook and test the link in Outlook.

Once its working you can change your default browser back to one of your choice.
