Hi Guys,

Ok seem to have found a slight problem.

I have an AOL email address and ADSL24 email address, now I use both of these and have them both set up in outlook express.

Now I have a laptop and pc, and outlook on both.

When I check my email on my pc, then check on my laptop, my AOL emails appear on both pc and laptop no matter which was used to access the emails first, but my adsl24 ones that I checked will only appear on the machine they were first checked on. (i.e check on pc, then try access them on laptop and they arnt there)

Is there somthing im missing?

Also was thinking on buying a domain name for £15 for the year for a shoter email addy (Somthing like this http://www.ukreg.com/website-email/email/). So crunch question, if I had outlook express set up on both my PC and Laptop to access this email. Would the same emails be visable on both systems??

Easiest way to do this (although not the best/proper) is to select the option "leave mail on server for X days" put that to 7 days and all PC's that download mail will get a copy IIRC:

Tools
Accounts
Properties
Advance
Leave Messages On Server [Tick]
Remove after [X Days]

The proper way is via IMAP, not sure exactly how it works as it always failed connecting to our email so we have been using the above method

The reason they're only visible on one machine is that machine is downloading them (at which point they're removed from the mail server).
As suggested, IMAP is the only way to have all the messages visible from both machines.

Does the provider even offer IMAP? It's not something that's automatic...

Ah I thought it must be somthing like that. Because I remember when entering the email details in outlook, AOL was an IMAP server, where as ADSL24 was a pop3. So you guys think I should contact ADSL24 to see if they offer IMAP? Otherwise I will try that method "ste Bla" recommended.
