Email Security Services for Microsoft 365

Hi

We have been using Trend Email Security which has been ok but are needing to look at new options. Can anyone provide recommendations for email security services for Microsoft 365? Is Microsoft Defender for Office 365 any good? I know Mimecast used to be considered one of the best but not sure if that is still the case?

Mimecast is great, it’s what I used previously but it’s also quite expensive. Defender is good, it’s certainly come along over the years and we used that at a small company without issues. It ultimately depends on your requirements and budget.

Mimecast, Barracuda, Proofpoint are other ones I've used in the last few years. I'd say MessageLabs as I used that not too long about, but pretty sure they got bought out and will be sent out to pasture.

It's been a few years since I've had to deal with Mimecast but their support, I felt was pretty rough at times.

Defender for Office 365 Plan 1 is good however if you want something that will hold/replay emails (E.g. if there is an issue with 365) then something such as FuseMail or Mimecast will be ideal. Mimecast is good when it works and whilst others rave about it I have found the process to get through to their support painful at times but when they kick into gear they generally get it sorted quickly
