My day at OcUK with 8 Pack.
Yesterday I was an extremely lucky person, after sending the email to the wrong address Dave their IT Director actually spotted my mail lost in their mail server, he sorted it out and directed it to Gibbo the rest is below.
I had an invite to OcUK headquarters to see 8 Pack working and getting the 3 D Mark 11 World record.

Wow I could not believe the set up at OcUK I could never imagine the sheer size of the site and MASSIVE stock levels. What amazed me was as I walked through with 8 Pack just how dedicated each person was to the job they were doing OcUK is one huge team working together like a Swiss watch.
Anyway down to the sharp end, after quickly meeting 8 Pack it was quickly down to overclocking he has such a passion it fills the air when he starts it’s magical and a huge privilege for me to see live, the sheer speed of his thinking and adjustments has to be seen to be believed where we mere mortals have a failed overclock and have to think what to try next 8 Pack has thought of that before it reboots it’s like he becomes part of the computer when he works on it, the intensity is something I have never seen before, I can talk for Britain and he actually made me shut up and watch, he didn’t ask me to the sheer speed made me have to so I could try to keep up with him.
When you’re working with Liquid Nitrogen you have to be quick to get your goal before the components get wet when the ice starts melting at which point you start getting errors and going backwards, 8 Pack told me all this but he still couldn’t help keep pushing for more, it’s nice to see the scores and the numbers but honestly if you knew how much he puts into getting them you’d realise just how special he is, and aren’t we lucky not only is he British but he works at OcUK. Some people might say he only gets the best bits that’s why he can do it, I can tell you have no illusions he can make an ordinary component that a good overclocker can achieve look pitiful, his utter knowledge and speed of thought is what keeps him at the forefront.
I always knew OcUK had the best components to make a PC suit individual needs something for everyone all under one roof, I cannot see another PC specialist that could come close to what they offer, stock genuinely in hand to supply when you need it and a specialist team to help should you have any problems and this forum where else can you go and the top management will come join in and more important than anything listen and make changes if it betters the community as a whole. I have been a customer of OcUK for 14 years and seen them grow and better themselves all the time constantly going forward looking to make sure all of our needs are catered for. I was utterly blown away, you might pay 5 pence more for an item but Overclockers have it in stock a lot of other companies sell to you then buy it in making delays in your important order, and this is very important to get across.
I had a break for almost 5 years and yet I was welcomed back like I had been on holiday for a week, it’s more than a PC World this is a team of enthusiasts working to please other enthusiasts it’s a totally different concept each member fitted into a job they excel at to get the best results.
It would be nice for everyone to see what I have but you all know that would be impossible, I saw some of the best components in the World and the experience is something I will not forget.
Did I learn something, absolutely, I did struggle to keep up with 8 Pack but I’m sure anyone would that is why he is so special, I have been an overclocker for about 12 years and we all think we’re the best I suppose but if I had the money I would love to buy an 8 Pack machine as to me it’s like a piece of jewellery a diamond the best you can get, something that we all would love to have, it’s great OcUK make this available because they might have a big price tag but if you knew how much goes into one the price tag becomes so less important, there is nowhere on this planet you can go and get a system built specially for you with the finest components in the World, it takes hundreds of hours to bin and be sure every single component matches perfectly 8 Pack would not have it any other way and neither would the management of OcUK.
This might seem like an advert and I promise you it’s not, it’s my honest view of what I saw and I write this to help the community try to get a glimpse of my experience. Above all if any of you have any idea’s that will help other enthusiasts contact Overclockers the management at the very top do read and listen to all of them and if it will benefit the majority then you will have your contribution towards the betterment for all of us as we are like one huge family.
I remember years ago we overclockers wanted G Skill memory Gibbo looked on the forum listened and brought stocks in for us, tens of thousands of pounds spent because we wanted it this is what makes Overclockers stand out and be the number 1 enthusiast supplier. And not just for people like me, I introduced my friend who runs a business and needed PC’’s to suit his business I was out of my league but OcUK built him PC’s special to suit his requirements so not s single penny was wasted buying something that would not be used, that would not happen anywhere else they just look at profit where Overclockers look at keeping a customer for life, I knew once I involved them with my friend I could go on holidays and knew if he had a problem OcUK would keep his business running, he now buys from them without even asking me he rings and they sort out what he needs.
Thank you Overclockers for making a day for me that I will not forget this was better than Christmas for me, money couldn't buy what I saw a true overclockers dream.
