hi all

I bought a couple of sticks of mem from the MM

finaly got around to putting them in a machine today and.

well they dont fit, the slots in the middle(ish lol) are about half a cm out of alignment

they are

Samsung 256Mb PC2-3200 M378T3354BGO-CCCDS

what have I bought here? obviously isnt standard memmory

am i missing somethign obvious?

cheers

PC3200 comes in DDR1 and 2, most people buy 3200 for DDR1 systems, it would explain y the small notch aint lining up

no i arnt trying to fit it the wrong way

my first thought was that it is ddr2 but i thought 4200 was the smallest ddr2
/Doh

and just for info. if you flip the memmory around (as if it was lined up wrong side) it is a damn site more than half a cm out of line

so now i have some ddr2 memmory with no use /sigh (i have 4 gig ddr2 in my machine)_

and yeah its a DDR1 motherbaord (just stuck some ddr1 out of my downloading machine to get it going)

well not unless any body has some ddr1 they woudl like to swap for a couple of 256 DDr 2 sticks

Raider X answered the question i think, or rather confirmed what i was thinking, but thought to be impossible (due ot the speed)
