Embedded Google Maps Question: Can you manually move the "marker"?.

Hi there,

I've embedded a Google map of the area of a clients holiday home in his website.

The red map marker is pointing at the town nearby his villa.

However, the actual location of his villa is a lot nearer to the beach than the main town where the marker is pointed at.

In the location description, it describes his villa being a "ten minute walk" to the beach, which is correct.

But anyone looking at the Google map and seeing the marker is going to get the wrong impression of this as going by the marker position, it is clearly much more than a "ten minute walk".

Is there a way to manually move the red map marker and then embed the map?. Or can I do a more precise search first by say.....grid co-ordinates to position the marker exactly where it needs to be?.

Thanks.

pretty sure you can do it using grid refs not sure how you'd find them out though, maybe look into the 'user-created content' side of things on google earth/maps such as creating virtual tours and geo-tagged photos

Thanks m8, I'll take a look at that.

I've managed to move the marker a lot closer to where the fellas villa is just by typing in the search box the name of a street nearby it.

It's better, but not perfect. :)
