Our client leads the industry in pioneering signal conversion and fiber-optic-based transport systems for the broadcast, cable, satellite, production, digital cinema, surveillance, teleconferencing, and Pro-AV markets across all business verticals.

They're looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to join their team. This role can be done fully remote or on-site at their facility in NY

Responsibilities

· End-to-End Design and Development of embedded solutions;

· Drive firmware quality by using early defect discovery and removal;

· Analyze acceptance criteria and provide estimates of effort

Experience Required

· Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent field;

· 5+ years of C/C++ development experience using the ARM cross compilation toolchain; develop embedded C code for 8 bit Atmel atmega microcontrollers (Good to have C++ knowledge for Arduino M0 with the ARM cortex M0 chip)

· Required additional skills on FPGA development using Verilog or VHDL

· 5+ years of development experience under Linux OS and Real time kernels;

· Good knowledge of UI technologies: Qt, Angular JS or similar

· Experience with basic scripting languages: Shell, Bash, Python;

· Good knowledge of Lean firmware Development, including Continuous Integration and interaction with QA team;

· Experience with Agile/scrum methodologies and scrum processes are desirable.

· Experience with common micro-controller peripherals and driver development: I2C, SPI, UART, Memory, USB, Ethernet;

· Ability to read schematic

· Troubleshoot engineering prototype using DMM and oscilloscope

· Atlassian Tools experience helpful: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Crucible;

Additional Requirements:

· 5 years’ experience developing firmware

· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

· Strong attention to details, highly organized, computer literate

· Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional environment

· Ability to work extended hours and align with a global team; as a minimum with engineers on Eastern Time Zone (New York / Boston / Toronto) constantly

· Collaborate with cross functional team



Circa New York > $150k
UK based remote > £80k will need to be available for meeting based on NY timezone, just meetings and catch ups
 
Aww i have my own siglent scope and sig gen for doing my rpi bare metal adc and coded linux kernel drivers.. i’ve coded arm since school (ARM2 onwards) with assembler and c/c++..

If i hadn’t got a new role i’d have jumped at the chance :)
