Is anyone else playing this game from Germany, it lacks the big budget polish of major releases but it isn't half a addictive putting out fires and arresting people. :D

I stumbled across it a few days ago, never heard of it before.

I bought ze German copy and grabbed the LA mod on the web which uses version 3 vocab files.

Although I've found conflicting info that shows a UK version with a UK patch online!

Am I right in thinking this game came out in Germany 2 years ago?

Haha. :D Do you have the LA Mod running, hence American units?

Any hints on how to control demonstrations?

Last night I tried using the negotiator but the crowd turned on me, cost me45,000 deploying police offices, a chopper, water cannon, sharp shooter and oodles of medics.

They (a group of 20+) resisted arrest and attacked all my cops and medics, nearly lost them all, had to retreat.

So, I resorted to shooting the protestors with a sniper! :o

This game looks kinda cool. Is it like command and conquer mixed with errm I don't know!

Well it's kind of Command and Conquer meets Fireman Sam! :D It's an RTS and can be mission based or 'free form' where you have a city map and pretty much 'keep it safe' via all the emergency services - Fire, Police, Ambulance and Rescue.

Anything from a dustbin fire to a whole street inferno spreading via the garden shrubbery and therefore hard to get hoses to the fire. Each vehicle has certain strengths and weaknesses such as one fire engine carries tools for cutting people out of cars, the other has a built in water tank and seats 6 firemen so you don't have to be near a hidrant (of which there are plenty tbh).

You need firemen with breathing kit to get inside buildings, sometimes with axes to break the doors down. Firemen can lift/rescue people from burning buildings as paramedics will collapse from fumes.

Obviously you call on ambulances where needed, or the medic car.

Aside from fires you have car accidents, people collapsing from heart attacks etc. Sometimes on the street, sometimes in a building and hence you call firebrigade for support to break down the door.

Then there's the policing side from petty theft to full blown riots etc.

It's by no means state of art and the menu's a bit clunky, but you soon get used to it, the graphics are more than passable. :)

This game is also known as "911 First Responders" - that's US/English version
Yep. I thought this was an update when I saw the trhead title. Played this ages ago.

It's fun multiplayer but gets boring quick due to hardly any disasters taking place and if they do its normally the same ones.

When I was in Germany last year I visited a place called Saturn which is a highstreet electrical chain but about a hundred times better than anything in the UK. They seemed to have an unusual amount of these types of games for PC, including Bus simulator and Rubbish Collection simulator, they must be popular over there.
