Hi just come home from work and I have a major problem...

I have a Netgear DG834 G wireless router/modem installed through my LAN socket on my PC and the POWER and TEST lights are flashing (test light is amber).

Now i have installed my USB Speedtouch modem and i have the broadband internet fine.

I cannot find anything on the net to help me. Is the netgear dead.

I have no idea what to do, cannot access anything through the router.

thanks. Im stumped

yes i have done that, finally found something on the web, sounds like its dead. only bought it in March this year from somewhere, so it will be going back to them tomorrow after i have phoned them for a replacement.

The router is slightly warm to the touch, not hot, but warm, always has been, i presumed this was normal ?

warm is normal but i had to return my previous DG834G router because it kept rebooting and was v.hot to touch.

anyways hope you got a spare router to use until you get a replacement.

nope, no spare router, just a USB speedtouch modem which of course does the job fine, using it now, only bought the wireless set up so that i could use my Wireless music player in my lounge through my PC upstairs.

Always something goes wrong isnt there. Life is never a flat plain.

Right,

1st) sorry to the Don's my mistake I put the name of a competitor, slipped my mind, soz about that!

2), well it's going back, there sending a replacement out today and mines going back today.

Only thing perhaps i can think that it was, is whilst I was at work today, there was a thunder storm. I wonder if that could have been the cause?

It has been left on for about 2 months straight. I wouldnt have thought that would be a problem. Do any of you guys turn y our wirelesss routers off at night etc ?
