I just spilt pepsi all over my Sony laptop. I immediately tipped the laptop up and started getting out what I could.

I'm now in the process of emptying everything as fast as I can onto my desktop as I haven't backed up for about 6 weeks.

Now the wait. Will it go? Is there anything I can do that may just help minimise it? I have my exams coming up this and next week and I'm frantically revising. Is it likely to go bust? It's about 3 years old, so I'm not too upset, prolly worth £100 I guess. Still I can't afford a replacement!

Dry it off as much as possible by hand, then put in a airing cupboard for about a week or two, to throughly dry it. My mate did it, when he spilt milk over his Sony Vaio.. only problem was his keyboard, all the keys stuck and didn't work.. Hope this helps.

Leave it somewere warm like an airing cupboard overnight, if it does fail to boot you might be able to claim on household insurance.

The hard drive you will need to check to see if it is IDE or Sata.

Ok, will do that. Nearly got everything backed up. The information is worth more than anything else and now I have that if the laptop survives it will be a bonus.

Thanks
