Evening guys, got in my car (07,vectra,1.8vvt) this morning and the emissions light came on from startup and stays on now.
Car drives fine though.

Could i call my breakdown cover company for this? Save me a trip to a garage if it is something simple to fix or give me fault codes to save paying for diagnostics at a garage?

Im cheap :D

If you reset the codes does the light come back on?
Cant reset it without tech2/opcom plugged in.

Did seem pretty 'flat' when putting the foot down at 60mph in 5th, dont know if its in my head because of the light being on or not though.

my google skills say lambda sensor, cam/crack sensor?

You can read the codes yourself.

With the key out put your foot all the way down on the accelerator and the other hard on the break pedal. Insert the key and turn until all the dash lights up but do not start the car. Wait a couple of seconds and the service light and EML lights will start to flash. You can get the patterns and what they mean from google.

You can also try disconecting the battery for 30 mins and see if it clears the code. The older ECU's can be a bit over sensitive and sometmes a reset does the job. Before you disconect the battery put the key in the ignition and turn it on. Wait 10 seconds and turn it off but leave the key in the ignition. This will stop the alarm and immobiliser having a fit when you re connect the battery.

The most common issues on 1.8 vectras is either the Lambda sensor in the exhaust or the EGR valve is sticking/Gunked up..

Yeah, no harm in trying - if they weren't going to come out then they'd say so over the phone. Nothing lost in trying.
