Emo or Goth

think I might be showing my age here, but can anyone tell me what the difference is between an Emo and a Goth?

They appear to dress pretty similar (black stuff, piercings etc)

Is it clothing?
Outlook?
Music?

Also examples of musicThing is, as a late 30s guy I know exactly what a Goth is, or at least was.

Are goths still around or have they interbread and become Emos?

What the hell does Emo mean anyway???

You know you're an emo when you start cutting yourself and you can't remember if it's supposed to feel good or bad...

I guess that just about says it all
